Thank you for your interest in becoming a Maranoa Volunteer! 
Maranoa Regional Council recognises the importance of volunteers within the community and as such volunteers are valued for providing customer focused services and enhancing established initiatives in our region. 
Applicants for volunteer positions are matched to positions according to how well their knowledge, skills and abilities meet the criteria. 

Any person in contact with children and young persons as part of their volunteer employment must hold (or be able to gain) a current Blue Card issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian. 

If you are a volunteer working with clients with a disability you will be required to undergo a criminal history check in accordance with prevailing Disability Services Queensland legislation.

A Blue Card is a Working with Children Check Card and a Green Card is a Disability Services Positive Notice Card.
Please provide details of health/medical conditions that may affect you in carrying out your volunteer work or may be aggravated by work conditions (e.g. existing muscle condition, allergies, and medications).

PRIVACY STATEMENT

By submitting an enquiry for a volunteer position with Maranoa Regional Council you will supply us with personal information that is subject to the Privacy Act. The personal information contained in your enquiry or provided by you in an interview will be used by us to:
*assess your suitability for a volunteer position at Council
*process your enquiry
*conduct reference checks

If we do not collect your personal information we are not able to process and assess your enquiry for volunteering. Your enquiry will be viewed by management, staff or office bearers of the Council involved in the selection process. We will retain your personal information for as long as we require it. The Council takes all reasonable security measures to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, destruction, misuse, modification or disclosure. In the event that your enquiry is unsuccessful, we will dispose of your personal information within 3 months of the conclusion of the recruitment process. In the event that your enquiry is successful, your application and information about your recruitment will be placed on your personnel file and retained by the Council.
